The beauty and elegance of bamboo's and their varied shape and size is fascinating.
Asia is the home of most bamboo's where they are in constant use either as food (bamboo shoots) or for building, furniture or kitchen utensils.
There are some 1,070 different species from the tiny SASA to giants of 30 metres tall and 30cm in diameter.
Below is a photo of my bamboo that flowered and died they do say that that happens to a bamboo every 100 years, but I caught a lot of the seeds in the plastic bags in the bottom photo and I finished up with about 200 bamboo plants giving most of them away to friends and visitors to my garden
